Of the eight species, seven have been recorded from southern Africa. The remaining species has been recorded from Zambia.

Chelypus barberi

Distribution includes South Africa (Northern Cape), Namibia, Botswana, Angola, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Recorded from Luderitz, Namibia.

 

Chelypus hirsti

Distribution includes South Africa (Northern Cape), Namibia and Botswana.

 

Chelypus lawrencei

Recorded from Luderitz, Namibia.

 

Chelypus lennoxae

Recorded from South Africa (Northern Cape) and Namibia.

 

Chelypus shortridgei

Recorded from Kavango, Namibia.

 

Chelypus wuehlischi

Recorded from Gobabis, Namibia.
