Bevis, A.L. (1897-1984) 

Worked at Durban Science Museum.

"Worked all his life from the age of 14 years at the Durban Museum. Collected insects extensively which were left here. Its probably safe to say that there are more A.L. Bevis insect specimens here than that from any other single person." (C. Quickelberg, pers. comm.).

Bulk of specimens housed in Durban Science Museum. Some ant specimens are housed in the South African Museum.
