The six species are native to tropical Africa and Madagascar;
three are native to
southern Africa.

Of the 27 species, 22 are native to southern Africa, the remaining species
being found in other parts of Africa.

About 100 species, native to Europe, Africa and Asia with
two species native to
southern Africa and three species cultivated.

Ondetia
The only species is Ondetia linearis, found in Namibia.

Pechuel-Loeschea
The only species is
Pechuel-Loeschea leubnitziae, native to
southern Africa.
