Distribution and habitat
It breeds in the region from eastern Europe to central
Asia, heading south in the non-breeding season to the Arabian Peninsula, parts
of the Sahara Desert and East Africa down to Tanzania. It was once photographed
in northern Botswana in 1971, however it is possible that it has been
misidentified.
