Identification

The Kunene racer can be identified by its irregular black crossbars (similar to the zebra cobra), its large eyes and its small distribution. It reaches an average length of 39 cm and a maximum length of 65 cm.

Distribution and habitat

Restricted to the Kunene valley in Namibia. Its favoured habitat is stony scrub.
