Identification
A brownish-grey or dark grey long-nosed dogfish
with a long, low 1st dorsal fin and a sub-caudal keel on the
underside of the caudal peduncle.
Size
To 76 cm TL.
Range
Namibia
to Hondeklip Bay, also Natal; widespread in the Atlantic and Western
Pacific.
Habitat
Upper slope at 205 to 608 m. Biology Bears 5 to 7
young. Feeds on lanternfish, squid, and crustaceans.
Human Impact
Probably a sporadic catch of hake trawlers.
