Impey, William (1818-1896)
Weslyan missionary in South Africa who collected
insects.
Was married to Mary Elizabeth, daughter of the Rev. Wm.
Shaw and they had three sons and five daughters.

In addition to being superintendent of Weslayan missions, became
principal of the Healdtown Institution near Fort Beaufort, where he lived. |

Returned to Grahamstown. |

Resigned from the Methodist Church for doctrinal reasons. |

Specimens
There are specimens of Lepidoptera in the Transvaal Museum
