|
Lasiopogon glomerulatus
Small, annual herb, with branches up to 8 cm long. Found

recorded from northwestern Zambia suggesting that its distribution might
well extend through Botswana. Also recorded from Madgascar where it occurs
on sandy banks and coastal dunes. |
|
Lasiopogon micropoides
Annual herb forming small, woolly mats up to 15 cm in
diameter. Most of the records are from Namaqualand in the Northern Cape,
extending from near Vanrhynsdorp north to the Gariep River. However, there
is also a record from central Namibia, suggesting the distribution extends
inbetween. Found mainly in open sandy places such as along water courses.
Recorded in flower in June and September. |
|
Lasiopogon minutus
Small, annual herb recorded up to 4 cm tall. Recorded only
once from an area of quartzite near Koekenaap in the northern part of the
Western Cape. |
|
Lasiopogon muscoides
Annual herb forming small, woolly mats up to 15 cm in
diameter. Has a puzzlingly disjunct distribution with one population from
Spain and North Africa through to Pakistan and northwestern India, and a
second population in southern Africa where it is found mainly in semi-desert
regions of South Africa, Namibia and Botswana, south of 23šS. Found mainly
in bare, sandy or gravelly locations along watercourses, edges of pans, in
old fields and along railway lines. |
|
Lasiopogon ponticulus
Annual herb forming small, woolly mats. Recorded from
southwestern Namibia and the Richtersveld in the Northern Cape. Grows in
sandy soils. Flowering has been recorded from July to November. |
|
Lasiopogon volkii
