Distribution and habitat
Breeds in the north-western Indian Ocean from western India
through the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf to northern Kenya, while it is a rare
vagrant to Tanzania and southern Africa. It has been recorded three times in
coastal KwaZulu-Natal, at the Umvoti River mouth in November 1975 and Richards
bay in March 1982 and November 1991.
