Convolvulus looks similar to Ipomoea
but differs in having the stigma linearly divided. The naturalised species Convolvulus arvensis (Field
bindweed, Wild morning-glory, Klimop) is a
declared Category 1 invader plant in
South Africa. About 250 species, found worldwide, with 13
species indigenous and one species naturalised in southern Africa, with an
additional three species cultivated in the region. Differs from Ipomoea in having the stigma divided.
