Plectranthus neochilus (Spur flower)

Life > eukaryotes > Archaeoplastida > Chloroplastida > Charophyta > Streptophytina > Plantae (land plants) > Tracheophyta (vascular plants) > Euphyllophyta > Lignophyta (woody plants) > Spermatophyta (seed plants) > Angiospermae (flowering plants) > Eudicotyledons > Core Eudicots > Asterids > Euasterid I > Order: Lamiales > Family: Lamiaceae > Genus: Plectranthus

Plectranthus neochilus (Spur flower) under cultivation in Cape Town garden. Carpenter bees (Xylocopa) (bottom right) regularly visit these flowers but as these are being grown outside the normal range of this species, this particular species of Carpenter bee (which I think is Xylocopa caffra) may not be the natural pollinator.
