A tree with separate male and female flowers found from
the Cape to tropical Africa. The sole member of its genus. Previously placed in
the Flacourtiaceae or the Kiggelariaceae. Leaves are eaten by caterpillars of the Garden
Acraea butterfly Acraea horta.
