Description
Grows into a large tree, about 8 - 40 m tall,
with large inflorescences of golden yellow flowers.
Distribution and habitat
Native to the east coast and adjacent coastal
ranges of southern Queensland and northern New South Wales,
Australia. Widely cultivated in urban areas of Australia and in
other parts of the world with mainly tropical and subtropical
climates. A fairly regularly cultivated tree in urban areas of
southern Africa; mainly grown as a street tree or in large gardens.
In Cape Town there is a large tree next to Kenilworth Station and
one in the Company Gardens.
